In 1949, the trained basket maker and young entrepreneur Willi Schillig founded his own company. What began in the early post-war years as a fine wickerwork and basketry factory quickly developed into one of the leading, internationally active specialists for high-quality upholstered furniture. Today, Willi Schillig Polstermöbelwerke is already in its third generation of family ownership.

In 2012, CEO Erik Stammberger founds black label to respond to the growing demand from his clientele. They expect something special in the premium segment and attach great importance to the unique level of comfort and quality to which the traditional Willi Schillig brand owes its resounding name.
